Take Your First Step into Finance

 

The stock market is an exciting and risky place for budding amateur investors. In this course, students will be introduced to basic concepts that form the backbone of stock market analysis, including basic accounting rules, valuation techniques, quantification of risk, portfolio management and data analysis.

The course is designed for students in the final 3 years of school.

About the instructors:

  • David Wahl has over 15 years of experience in quantitative financial management, working both at a major London hedge fund and as a lead researcher for a family office. He is also the founder of Scientia Education.
  • Fabrice Cohen holds a Master’s degree in Probability and Finance from Université Paris VI / École Polytechnique. He brings over 15 years of experience in international financial markets as a Quantitative Trader and Data Scientist.

Registration Deadline

To help us confirm if the course will run, we ask all students to register by Monday 22 June. The course requires a minimum of 3 students to go ahead.

Late registrations may be accepted after this date if places are still available, but we strongly recommend signing up by 22 June to secure your spot.

If you register but the workshop does not receive enough sign-ups, we will offer one-on-one sessions instead, but with a reduced number of hours.

By the end of this workshop, students will:

Gain a solid introduction to stock market analysis

Apply key concepts through practical exercises

Begin to understand how investors make informed decisions in real-world financial markets

Develop the ability to select and justify three stock choices using structured reasoning
