Scientia is offering the following courses aimed at students in Years 9-12 during the Easter break.

This course introduces students to the SAT standardised test - its aim, format, and timing. It covers key content and strategies across the SAT Reading, Writing, and Math sections that will help students improve their speed and accuracy. 

The course will cover :
- An introduction to the SAT's aim, testing methods, and format
- SAT-specific strategies and techniques
- Timing strategies and exercises
- Key content across Reading, Writing, and Math sections

This course introduces students to the world of university research in the natural sciences. From the depths of the ocean to nuclear fusion and nanobots to novel medicines, the lessons will shine light on the amazing world of scientific discovery.

Every day students will:
- Explore cutting edge research from a different scientific field
- Gain insight on how to read about research
- Learn a new skill for presenting ideas
- Make a presentation to gain practice in academic communication

Stock market investing employs millions of people around the world. In this multi-disciplinary course, students will see how their school subjects tie in and reinforce each other in a "professional" context. 

The course will cover :
- Intro to micro-economics, human sciences, maths, and computing
- Coaching in communication techniques
- Skills useful for the preparation of "investment pitches"
- Peer discussions around pitches prepared by students

Stock market investing requires time and effort. Lessons will not endorse any recommendation but will aim to expand students' academic horizons. The course is also suitable for parents.

How do you write effective, convincing arguments? This course introduces students to academic writing as they explore social, cultural, historical, and political issues. 

Every day students will:
- Receive coaching on a key academic writing skill
- Explore on a relevant issue in the humanities
- Learn to think critically and perform research
- Practice academic writing and analytic skills
